Rick Grimes is the former sheriffs deputy who has been in a coma for several months after he was shot while at work. When he wakes up, he discovers that the world is taken over by zombies, and that he seems to be the only person alive. After returning home to find his wife and son missing, he goes to search for his family in Atlanta. Narrowly escaping death at the hands of zombies, arriving in Atlanta, he is aided by another family Glenn, who takes Rick camp outside the city. Rick has to find his wife Lori and son Carl. Together with his partner and best friend Shane, he would create a small group of survivors who are struggling to fight the zombie hordes, as well as competing with other family groups who are willing to do what it takes to survive.
